Candidates continue filing for May primaries

For the first time in three decades, Mountain Home and surrounding communities will welcome a new county sheriff while other long-time politicians face challenges for their seats as candidates continued to file for May's primary election.
In an announcement on Friday, Sheriff Rick Layher announced that he was stepping down as county sheriff following a career that began 40 years ago when he joined the department as a detective before moving up through the ranks.
