The Western Elmore County Recreation District appointed a new board director while voting to unfreeze a contract to build a community recreation center building.

The two and one-half hour meeting last Thursday featured a round-table discussion among 15 community members and professionals familar with the district's business.

    Strange the 15 community leaders just happened to show up at a WECRD meeting to discuss a project that was placed on hold and that none of them raised an objection to. Seems to me, an outsider, that there might have been some pre-planning by someone.

  • Man, that is just the gift that (nobody wants) keeps on giving. This fiasco has been a gross misuse of funds for 15 years running, I guess this shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. This project is morally, as well as financially, bankrupt..
