Landfill still smoldering, minimal impact expected

A fire at a privately owned regional landfill that takes in most of the trash for Elmore County residents remains closed after the site caught fire Nov. 16.

The fire left county commissioners scrambling to find an alternate method of disposing of trash during two emergency meetings last week.
