Raegen Sugden
Raegan St. Germaine Sugden, 49 of Mountain Home, passed away at home after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, July 6, 2015. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2015, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.
Raegan was born on May 13, 1966, at Travis Air Force Base, Calif., to Glen and Alice St. Germaine. Raegan was one of eight children, being the youngest daughter. Raegan's father was in the military, which brought the family to Mountain Home in 1977. Raegan graduated Mountain Home High School in 1984.
On June 7, 1985, Raegan married Robert Sugden of Mountain Home in Honolulu, Hawaii, where Robert was stationed at the time with the US Air Force. On March 13, 1991, Raegan gave birth to their daughter, Breanne Sugden.
Raegan worked in early childhood for approximately 14 years before pursuing a bachelor's degree. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education on May 7, 2004, with Black Hills State University. She then completed her student teaching and had been working as a teacher since 2004, which she started teaching fifth grade at Liberty Elementary School then transferred to Hacker Middle School in Mountain Home.
During her time at Hacker Middle School, Raegan had won several awards, which included runner-up for the Thomas O. Bell Prize for excellence in teaching, Elks Lodge Teacher of the Year and Mountain Home School District Teacher of the Year. Raegan was very passionate about teaching and was dedicated in helping each student to succeed.
Raegan's other passion was softball, which she had played since she was a child. It was a sport that she loved and shared deeply with her father. Playing softball, Raegan had won numerous awards, including most valuable player.
On June 7, 2015, Raegan and Robert celebrated their 30th year anniversary.
Raegan was a very dedicated and loving wife, mother and teacher, who will be missed by all.
Raegan is survived by her husband, Robert Sugden and their daughter Breanne; her mother, Alice St. Germaine; her sisters, Diane Knight, Karen Knight, Sandra St. Germaine, and Sharon Thomas; and her brothers, David St. Germaine, Randy St. Germaine and Brian St. Germaine. She was preceded in death by her father, Glen David St. Germaine.
