Clarence Gidley
Clarence D. "Chick" Gidley, age 91 of Mountain Home, peacefully passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 1, 2015. Graveside service with military honors was held on Monday, July 6, 2015, at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain Home. Arrangements were under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.
Chick was born Dec. 10, 1923, to Wilford and Ada (Holton) Gidley in Liberal, Kan. When he was a year old, the family moved to Caldwell, Idaho.
On July 3, 1947, Chick married "Marge," and together they had a daughter, Nancy.
Chick was a WWII Veteran in Army Infantry. He worked in Civil Service for 33 years, where he traveled to many countries until finally retiring in Mountain Home. He also worked at the Boise Tribune.
Chick was active in Shriners, Tin Lizzies, Eastern Stars, Masons, American Legion and Elks and was one of the founding members of both the City "COPS" and the County "ECOPS."
Chick is survived by his adopted family and caregivers of 11 years, Sandra and Ronald Flones, Tammy (Aaron), Adriana and Ryan Simmons and Aaron and Clarissa White, Charlotte and Mike Vea and Shannon Schlaget.
Chick is preceded in death by both his parents; his wife, Margaret; and his daughter, Nancy.
