County's water concerns are secondary over landfill
Wednesday, July 1, 2015
Dear editor,
Living in the past. That's where the Elmore County Commissioners are when they pipe-dream about getting future water for Elmore County from the improbable expansions of Anderson Ranch Dam and Arrowrock Dam reservoirs. Raising either dam would not pass the scrutiny of an environmental impact study.
The Commission would do better to plan for funding the environmentally correct shutdown of the bankrupt industrial landfill it approved years ago, under the leadership of ex-commissioner Barry Peterson and over the objection of the Elmore County voters.
