State requiring burn permits starting Sunday

Starting Sunday, state residents wanting to conduct controlled burns outside of city limits are required to receive a fire safety burn permit from the Idaho Department of Lands.

State law requires those planning to burn crop residue and types of controlled burns during the closed fire season to file for these free permits.
