State water supply's drop attributed to dry season

After lakes, streams and reservoirs across the state started off the year in good shape after early winter rain and snow, drier conditions in March have left some areas with lower totals, according to a report released last week by the Natural Resources Conservation Service.
"March's snow water content typically increases during the month, but not this year," said Ron Abramovich, water supply specialist with the state conservation agency. "As a result, irrigation water shortages are expected across many of Idaho's central and southern basins."
