Tennis squad losses three matches

The Mountain Home Tigers dropped tennis matches to Skyview, Kuna and The Community School last week.

The Mountain Home Tigers tennis teams hosted Skyview last Tuesday at Richard Agiuirre Park and lost both the girls and boys matches.

In girls singles, Kira Anderson lost the first singles match, 1-6, 0-6; Tia Senger dropped the second match, 3-6, 2-6; and Rhyan Kelley lost the third singles match, 0-6, 1-6.

In girls doubles, Kaycee Crockett and Mariah Butori lost the first match, 0-6, 0-6; and Kierianna Chavez and Melinna Grimmius lost the second match, 3-6, 0-6.

Brad Foreman won the Tigers only match, breezing to a 6-1, 6-1 win in the first singles match. Eddie Guadarrama lost the second match, 3-6, 1-6; and Thomas Fatzinger lost the third match, 0-6, 2-6.

In boys doubles, Dalton Barker and Marc Pelletier lost the first match, 1-6, 2-6; and Jarek Schetzle and Nathan Gibbons lost the second doubles match by the same score.

In mixed doubles, David Trouten and Ariel Jares lost the first match, 0-6, 0-6; and Will King and Mady McCurdy dropped the second match, 0-6, 1-6.

The Tigers hosted Kuna last Thursday and lost both the girls and boys matches to the Kavemen.

Mountain Home's lone win came in the girls singles as Samantha Scobee won the third singles match, 6-1, 6-1. Kira Anderson lost the first match, 0-6, 0-6; and Anna Urquidi dropped the second match, 0-6, 2-6.

In girls doubles, Kaycee Crockett and Mariah Butori were blanked, 0-6, 0-6, in the first match, and Rhyan Kelley and Ariel Jares lost the second match, 0-6, 1-6.

In boys singles, Brad Foreman dropped the first match, 2-6, 3-6; Nathan Gibbons lost the second match, 0-6, 3-6; and Thomas Fatzinger lost the third match, 2-6, 2-6.

In boys doubles, Dalton Barker and Marc Pelletier lost the first match, 1-6, 1-6; and David Trouten and Alex Bucholz dropped the second match, 1-6, 0-6.

In mixed doubles, Miguel Pelletier and Samantha Feekes lost the first match, 1-6, 2-6; and Will King and Kierianna Chavez lost the second match 0-6, 2-6.

The Tigers hosted The Community School in a non-conference tennis match on Saturday and lost both the girls and boys matches.

In girls singles, Kira Anderson lost the first match, 2-6, 0-6; Tia enger lost the second match, 1-6, 2-6; and junior varsity player Rebecca Martin stepped up to play the third match, losing 0-6, 2-6.

In girls doubles, Kaycee Crockett and Mariah Butori lost the first match in a close one, 4-6, 4-6; and Melinna Grimmius and Mady McCurdy lost the second match, 0-6, 0-6

In boys singles, Brad Foreman and Eddie Guadarrama both won. Foreman took the first singles match, 6-1, 6-0; and Guadarrama won the second match, 6-4, 6-3. A junior varsity player Owen Ostberg stepped up to battle at the third spot and lost, 0-6, 0-6.

In boys doubles, Dalton Barker and Marc Pelletier lost the first match 3-6, 1-6; and Alex Bucholz and Will King dropped the second match, 1-6, 2-6.

In mixed doubles, Mountain Home picked up its other win as Migiel Pelletier and Samantha Feekes won a three-hour first doubles match in three sets, 6-5, 5-7, 7-6 with a 7-5 tie breaker. David Trouten and Ariel Jares lost the second match, 0-6, 0-6.

Mountain Home has two conference matches this week, traveling to Caldwell on Tuesday and hosting Middleton on Thursday. They also host Bishop Kelly at home April 14. Home matches start at 2 p.m. at the Richard Aguirre Park tennis courts. The games are open to the public.
