Wrestlers wrap up season with win
The Mountain Home Tigers wrapped up their regular season wrestling schedule last Wednesday at Skyview, downing the Hawks, 70-10.
Mountain Home won six of the eight matches actually wrestled at Skyview with the Hawks forfeiting in seven weight classes.
Winning by pins were Hunter McCluskey in the 98-pound weight class, and Tyler Hardin (138) won by pins in the 138. Tyler Heath (132) won by technical fall, 16-0; Pierce Mederios (106) and Jacob Lucas (120) won by major decisions; and Kanoa Doronio (113) won by a 7-0 decision.
Picking up wins by forfeit were Tanner Sessions (145), Brad Keierleber (152), Jeremy Essl (160), Tyler McCall (170), Taylor Ogaard (182), Jacob Ryan (195) and Jose Ortiz (285). Dallin Dearing lost a 12-3 major decision at 220 pounds while David Welle lost by pin at 126 pounds.
"It was a fantastic job by our guys winning our last dual of the season for a perfect 5-0 SIC record," said Tigers wrestling coach Lynn Knudson. "Now we need to stay focused on districts, and I believe we can do it if we wrestle consistent one match at a time."
The District III 4A tournament begins Thursday at Caldwell.
