Schmitz' to celebrate 50th

Don and Christel Schmitz of Mountain Home will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a cake and coffee event on Oct. 28 at 1 p.m., immediately following a no-host lunch at the South Fork Boise Senior Center in Pine (350 N. Pine-Featherville Rd.).

The event is slightly in advance of the 50-year mark for their actual wedding date, which was Nov. 23, 1964, in Kaiserslautern, Germany.

The couple have two children, Susan Hooker and Cathy Tino of Boise, and three grandchildren.
