Allan was born Dec. 4, 1935, in Spokane, Wash. He attended school there, graduating from Rogers High School in 1954.
He joined the Air Force in 1956, where he served as an aircraft mechanic until he was discharged in March 1960. He returned to Spokane where he started working at Kaiser Aluminum.
In April 1964, Allan married the love of his life, Lynne Hansen. They were blessed with two great children, Lynne and Jim.
They moved around the country, making stops in Portland, Dallas, Carson City and Reno before settling in Fernley.
Allan was very active in the Masons. He served as Grand Worthy Patron for the State of Nevada. He also served as Worshipful Master of Pyramid Lodge. One of his true loves was being a clown for the Shriners. He loved seeing the smiles on the faces of kids when walking in parades or visiting hospitals. Allan and Lynne were both very active in the Order of the Eastern Star. They loved to travel together visiting other lodges and of course he will always be remembered best for all the jokes he told, when everyone else was so serious.
Allan enjoyed his time with his family and friends. There are many special memories and wonderful stories he told.
He was extremely happy his last few months when he moved to Idaho. He was able to spend time with his daughter and loved her company and help.
Allan is survived by his daughter, Lynne Burks, and her husband, Dennis, and their children, Chris Burks and Jenni Anderson and her husband, Matt. Allan had one great-grandson, Brody Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his wife and his son, Jim.
We love and miss you Dad.
