Anita Jean Landis, 55, passed away in her home after a long brave battle with cancer, Oct. 15, 2014. She was surrounded by her loved ones.

Anita was born in John Day, Ore., on June 15, 1959, to John Isham and Myrtle Alice Stinnett. She graduated from Grant Union High School in 1977 and moved to Hammett to live with her sister and brother-in-law.
It was there that she met the love of her life, Steven Paul Landis, and they were married on Nov. 18, 1978. Together, they had two beautiful daughters, Laura and Sarah.
Later, they opened their home and hearts to four wonderful children, Alexis, Austin, Lorenzo and Patricia, and loved them like their own. Anita loved all of her family and committed her life and energy to caring for them. Her four grandchildren held a special place in her heart.
As a child, Anita dedicated her life to the Lord and His service. She was involved in many church activities and supported the ministry of her husband. Her one desire was that all her children, grandchildren and family would grow up to have a firm relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
Her hobbies were hunting, fishing, spending time in God's creation and gardening. She also enjoyed working alongside Steve on their family farm.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters. She is survived by her seven brothers and one sister. She is also survived by her husband Steve, six children and four grandchildren.
Anita will be missed as a wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Anita, meaning "A Gift from God," truly was a blessing to each of us.
