Frank Millet
Frank H. Millet, 85, of Grand View, Idaho, passed away June 5, 2014, at a Boise Care Center.
Franklin Hyrum Millet was born on June 13, 1928, in Jerome, Idaho, to Clarence Artemus Millet and Geneva May Johnson. He had one brother and two sisters.
He went to school until the 8th grade. After that, he enjoyed trapping and fishing and working in the bee business for Stewart Brothers.
Frank served in the Army for two years during the Korean War.
When he returned, he attended the Gold and Green Ball. All the girls lined up and the guys picked their gal. Frank handpicked not only the Gold and Green Ball Queen, but the love of his life. He was ready to make her his wife right then and there, but Ann said, "Nope. You have to serve a mission first." So he gave her a ring and off he went.
He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the British Columbia, Alberta, Canada, Mission.
When he returned, Ann Reid still had the ring on her finger and they were married on June 13, 1951. Out of that union came eight children: Jay, Janice, Golden, Kenyon, Curtis, Reid, Colleen and Annette, and one foster son, Kevin Freemont.
Frank supported his family as a farmer, dairyman and beekeeper and enjoyed all of those occupations.
Much of the joy in his life came from interactions with others. Frank and Ann proved this by serving two missions together. They first served in Manila, Philippines, and then in the Bronx, N.Y.
Frank was preceded in death by two sons and one grandson.
He is survived by his wife and seven children, 22 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11, at the Grand View LDS Church. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Grand View. Arrangements are under the direction of the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett.
