Rimrock district to merge schools
After voters in the Bruneau Grand View Joint School District failed to approve a $1.2 million supplemental levy for the second time, district officials are now taking steps to consolidate all three of its schools into the Rimrock Jr./Sr. High School facilities.
In addition, some staff will be cut and district funding for the entire athletic program will eliminated.
The cuts and changes mean the district will be able to operate within what the state allocates but on it will be on a "shoestring," Superintendent Dennis Wilson said.
School staff and community volunteers will work over the summer to move all classroom furnishings and supplies from Bruneau and Grand View elementary schools into classrooms at Rimrock, he added.
