America is for all of us, not just one voice
Dear editor:
I just want to convey my admiration of Mr. Jim Bird's recent letter. It was funny and very intelligent.
For months, about eight or nine since my last letter, Mr. Bradbury has had his right wing looney rants go unchecked. Are people afraid of this guy or what?
This is a man who calls people that don't tow the Tea Party lunatic fringe sheep! He'll throw in Communist or Nazi at you, too, although I don't think he knows the difference anyway.
Instead of working together to find a common ground, this man spews blind hatred for anyone that isn't a "true American." For the life of me, I don't know what a true American is. Maybe if you live in Duck Valley, I guess you would fit the bill. You know, native American!
We are all immigrant. Some came of their own volition; some came in cramped, filthy ships. Chains and whips were provided. This is why our country is so unique. We are a quilt of many colors and ideas.
America is for all of us. Thank you, Mr. Bird. It's truly the best letter to the editor I've read in a long, long time.
