Martha Parks
Martha Vesey Pierce Parks passed away Sept. 26, 2013, after a brief battle with cancer. She was laid to rest Oct. 7 in Zena, Ore., alongside her loving husband, Wayne Randle Parks.
She was born on March 10, 1949.
Martha graduated from Mountain Home High in 1967 and attended the Idaho State University School of Business.
She moved to Lewiston with her then husband, Jerry Pierce, and their children, where she began her career in finance working for Clarkston Grain.
She moved to Portland, Ore., in the early '80s and went to work as director of human resources at Northwest Grain. It was there she met the love of her life, Wayne Parks, who was president of her company's competitor, Columbia Grain. Due to the conflict of interest she left the grain business and opened her own accounting firm in Lake Oswego, Ore.
The last 15 years of her life she was the director of finance for the Oregon Golf Association. It was here she found her niche. She loved both her job and the people she worked with and met through her job.
She is survived by her 91-year-old parents, Leonard and Margaret Vesey of Phoenix, Ariz.; her sister, Cheryl Vesey Dennis (John), of Windsor, Colo.; her brother, Tom Vesey (Vicki) of Phoenix; her daughter, Kallee Pierce Coleman (Caleb) and their children, Michaela, Caden and Conor, all of Yamhill, Ore.; and her adoptive son, Woody Little (Lori) and their son, Michael, all of Newburg, Ore.
She was predeceased by her son, Michael Shane Pierce.
She will be forever in our hearts.
