Soccer players honored at event

Mountain Home girls and boys soccer players earned letters and awards at last Tuesday's soccer awards banquet held at the Mountain Home Junior High commons area.

In boys varsity awards, the Most Valuable Player award went to Victor Sanchez.

Outstanding Defender awards went to Jack Richelieu and Austin Griswold.The Outstanding Midfielder award went to Jesus Araujo. The Outstanding Striker award went to Keko Sanchez. The Most Improved Player award went to Carlos Pedroza. Earning the Hustle Award were Paul Rooney and Alex Dominguez. John Rooney earned the Tiger award and Most Inspirational Player award.

In All-Conference awards, Keko Sanchez and Juan Sanchez both earned First Team All-Conference.Jack Richelieu, Sergio Eulalia and Victor Sanchez earned Second Team All-Conference. Earning Honorable Mention All-Conference were Paul Rooney, Jesus Araujo and Chance Llewellyn.

In girls varsity awards, the Most Valuable Player award went to Christa Lewis.

The Beast award went to Anna Urquidi. The Most Improved Player award went to Melissa Jessup. The Top Defender award went to C.J. Bish. Madison Roache earned the Top Striker award. Hannah Bideganeta earned the Top Midfielder award.

In All-Conference awards for girls soccer, Christa Lewis earned First Team All-Conference Defender. Hannah Bideganeta and Aubree Ogaard both earned Honorable Mention All-Conference.

Awards also were handed out the junior varsity girls and boys teams.

The JV Lady Tigers finished second in conference behind Bishop Kelly and lost the district JV tourney championship game to Bishop Kelly in a shoot out.

Earning the Most Inspirational Player award was Nicole Milford. The Most Improved Player award went to Tayde Rodriguez. The Top Defender award went to Elisabeth Ryan. Jacey Carr earned the Top Midfielder award. Violet Martinez earned the Top Striker award, as well as the Most Valuable Player award.

Earning the Junior Varsity boys Most Improved Player award was Josh Baldridge. The Outstanding Defender award went to Jorge Salinas. Juan Torres earned the Outstanding Striker award. Jared Baldridge earned the Outstanding Midfielder award. The Tiger award went to Nathan Gibbons. The Hustle award went to Brandon Gomez. Juan Torres won the Most Valuable Player award.
