Jack Sellman
Surrounded by his family, Jack Edward Sellman, 87, quietly passed on July 14, 2013, at St. Luke's Elmore hospital in Mountain Home.
Jack, the youngest of three sons, was born in 1925 in Colton, Calif., to Harry and Celia Cunningham Sellman. In 1936, the family moved to Victorville, Calif.
After graduation from high school, Jack enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the outbreak of World War II. He served in the South Pacific as an aircraft mechanic, was awarded the Purple Heart and was honorably discharged.
Upon his return to California, he married Marjorie Ann Lemon, a pretty gal he had known in elementary school.
In California, he was self-employed as the owner of a carpet business and also an auto parts business.
Jack and Marge moved to Elmore County, Idaho, in 1990. Along with his son and daughter-in-law, he purchased and helped manage Fort Running Bear RV Park in Elmore County.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Marge of Mountain Home, son Steve (Maryl Ball) Sellman of Mountain Home, son Blaine (Vickie) of Santa Margarita, Calif., grandchildren Maj. Blaine (Vannessa) Sellman of Ft. Meade, Md., Colby (fiance Andris Hodosy) Sellman of La Jolla, Calif., Jennifer Sellman Prince of Atascadero, Calif., and great-grandchildren Johnathan and Juliet Sellman of Rincon, Ga., Keandra and Jadon Prince and Ryker Love of Atascadero, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers George and Harry, Jr.
The family would like to graciously thank the staff from Cedar Crest Residential Care for their exemplary care and kindness. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you would please thank a veteran for his or her service to our country.
At Jack's request, there will be no service. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
