Dallas Orr
On April 10, 2013, Dallas Dee Orr, 59, of Caldwell, Idaho, passed into a restful sleep after a valiant fight with pancreatic cancer.
Dallas was born on a winter day Dec. 28, 1953, to Frank L. and Mary E. (Dell) Orr of Rupert, Idaho. He was raised on a farm in Rupert and attended Minico High School. At the age of 19 he started working for Amalgamated Sugar Co. where he devoted 33+ years.
Dallas fell in love and married Linda Huff 38 years ago in January of 1975 and from this love Eric, Justin and Jennifer were born.
In 2000, he and his sons worked together to form Orr Trucking and Orr Inc.
Dallas loved spending time with his family waterskiing, hunting, fishing, the great outdoors, fast cars and rock-n-roll. He had an appreciation for beautiful landscapes and photography.
He was a loving husband and a great provider for his family. He instilled in his children a hard work ethic.
He is survived by: his wife, Linda, of Caldwell; children Eric (Christa) of Mountain Home, and Justin and Jennifer of Boise; grandchildren Kamryn and J.R. of Mountain Home; his siblings, Robert (Lynda) Orr, Larry Orr and Carolyn Orr.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Daryl.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 15, at the Dakan Funeral Chapel 504 S. Kimball Ave., Caldwell, Idaho. Friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, April 14, and one hour prior to the service Monday at the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to be made to The Lustgarten Foundation at 1111 Stewart Ave., Bethpage, NY 11714, for Pancreatic Cancer Research.
