Support your American Legion post

Wednesday, February 27, 2013

Here I am at the "crabfeed", where are you??

Your community American Legion is ALWAYS there to provide a building for your functions, parties, business meetings, community gatherings wakes etc. This includes a warm building, power, a kitchen to meet your needs, and help by the Legion members.

The few "fund raisers" by the legion, this being the PRIMARY ONE ANNUALLY, the proceeds after the bills are paid, the money goes back TO YOUR COMMUNITY!

Think for a minute,

1. How many of YOU FAIRFIELD FOLKS, asked to use the Legion Hall, during the year and never paid a dime to support this effort?

2. How many of you folks have asked for a donation for your "rinko dinko" projects?

3. How many of you folks ask the Legion to bury your loved ones?

4. Who do you think puts flags on the streets and the cemetery plots of YOUR DECEASED family members?

The Legion is always there for you, and this is how you show your gratitude!!

I am in error here as MANY folks in this county think they are "ENTITLED RELIEFERS", and the world owes them a livin!

The Legion Hall is just one of their entitlements. = WRONG!

THE AMERICAN LEGION has a function to HELP SUPPORT YOUR COMMUNITY, and you don't have the common courtesy to buy a ticket and contribute. You should be real PROUD OF YOURSELF!

You have no idea of the folks that contribute time and money to keep the Legion doors open and a service to you, most folks never ask for anything in return. This is their community and they are doing what is right. I commend them for it.

Now about the rest of you "habitual societal leaches" and you know who you are! It's the inept leadership in Camas County that has led to this attitude.

I was here before most of you were born, and saw the various functions that the American Legion conducted and the fine leadership in the county, where all of us could be proud to be from Camas County, our roads were good, our community was prosperous, our school was excellent and did you know that there were more College Graduates, per capita, than any county in the state.

Camas Prairie led the way!

You look in the mirror and you will find the reason!
