Bob Payne
Robert "Bob" Donald Payne, 70, of Mountain Home, passed away in Las Vegas on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013.
A viewing will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. On Wednesday, Feb. 27, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, a viewing will be held from 9-10:30 a.m. with funeral services beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
Bob was born on May 10, 1942, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Allen and Hattie Payne. He was one of five children. He had two sisters and two brothers.
His family moved to California in 1943 where he later met and married the love of his life, Jackie "Judy" Allred, on Sept. 24, 1960. Together they had six wonderful children, Rob, Gary, Troy, Kenny, Missy and Jenny.
In 1974, Bob moved his family to Mountain Home where he established "Bob's Carpet Service," which remains family owned and operated. He also owned and operated Frontier Lanes Bowling Center.
He enjoyed hunting, camping, bowling, softball and spending time with his family.
Bob is survived by his wife, Jackie, of 52 years, sons Rob and wife Pam, Gary and wife Francene, Troy and wife Sue, Kenny and wife Margo; daughters Missy and husband Beau and Jenny and husband Scott and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Clifford and Charles Payne, his sisters, Carol Ann Iverson and Cheri Bromley, a grandson and a great-grandson Dominick.
Please join the family for a potluck celebration of Bob's life from 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at Freedom Lanes Bowling Center, graciously donated by Ray Morgan and family.
