Christians should support the president

Dear editor:

I read with interest Barbara Larson's letter published Jan. 30. She mentioned what the Bible tells us regarding the latter days.

She stated that President Obama has done many things to deserve impeachment. I'd like to encourage her to read Romans 13:1-2: "Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgement on themselves."

The Bible also tells us that we are to pray for those in authority over us. 1 Timothy 1-2: "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all who are in authority."

Imagine what a difference it would make if all Christians prayed daily for our president.
