Mei Hua Kirk
Mei Hua Kirk, 71, of Mountain Home, passed away peacefully on Jan. 27, 2013, at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise of natural causes.
No formal services were held, but family and friends celebrated her life at the Red Pavilion Chinese Restaurant.
Born on Oct. 8, 1941, in Taiwan, she immigrated to the United States in 1968. She met the love of her life and husband of 41 years, Dennis Kirk, in 1970. They raised one son, Michael Kirk, who now resides in Kirkland, Wash.
Mei loved to see everyone happy and she is well known for the wonderful meals that she put together for everyone. As selfless as they come, she would always ensure that everyone had either a full plate or a full belly before she even thought about sitting down to eat.
She left lasting impressions with everyone she came in contact with. Many felt her warmth and compassion and could claim a seat at her table as extended family.
An animal lover and with a passion for the outdoors, you could find her tending to her dogs, chickens, cats or birds, or sitting on the shore at C.J. Strike Reservoir with a line in the water and a smile on her face.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis, son Michael, granddaughter Mikayla and grandson Mason.
Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
