Nen Daly
Baudilla "Nen" Daly, 70, of Mountain Home, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Dec. 20, 2012, after an almost three-year battle with Alzheimer's.
Nen is fondly remembered for her indomitable spirit, her zest for life and her love for her family. Never one to sit still, she had many activities that she enjoyed doing, whether rollerblading all over town, snowmobiling in the hills or some sort of craft; she seemed to do any and every thing constantly on the go.
A native of the Philippines, she met her husband Peter in Cebu in 1966. As Peter was an officer in the Air Force, they traveled to different cities in the U.S. and to England before finally retiring in Mountain Home.
With her children in school, she started as a lifeguard at the MHAFB pool, eventually becoming the manager and lead instructor for over 20 years. Countless children learned how to swim under her careful eye.
Everywhere she went, Nen made friends instantly with her infectious smile and hearty laugh. She inspired people of all ages to simply do more with their life; do more with themselves.
She consistently pushed the limits of trivial rules, which frustrated many who ended up loving her anyway.
She was honest to a fault at times, but she touched each and every person she met on her journey of life.
She lived her life to the fullest, rarely letting anything get her down.
She is survived by her husband, Peter, her son Mike and his family (wife Dolly and children Shannon, Madalyn, Michael, Samantha and Joshua), her son Luther and his wife, April, and her daughter, Joy, and her family (husband Jeff and sons Logan and Gavin).
A memorial service will be planned and announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association, Atten: Donor Services, 6126 W. State Str., Suite 305, Boise, ID 83703.
