Donald Svederus
Donald C. Svederus passed away Nov. 6, 2012, due to health complications.
Friends and relatives attended a memorial service with full military honors at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, at 2 p.m., on Monday, Nov. 12. A wake followed at his home.
He was born to Julia Sanquirico and William Svederus on Sept. 14, 1947, in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada.
Don attended high school in Toul Rosieres AFB, France. After graduation, he joined the Air Force in 1967. Don did a tour of duty during the Vietnam War era, where he met his beautiful wife, Bangon, in Ubon, Thailand. After several tours of duty throughout the world, they finally settled down in Mountain Home.
Don loved spending time with his family and friends.
He was an avid trophy hunter and sports fisherman. He lived to hunt and fish with his family. He was very knowledgeable about the ways of wildlife in the Mountain Home and Trinity areas and enjoyed many successful hunting and fishing trips over the years with close friends and family.
Don loved to talk about his hunting and war stories and had a great sense of humor. He was very well loved by the people who knew him, and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by: his wife, Bangon Svederus; his son and wife, Donnie and Nimfa Svederus; daughter Kim Svederus; daughter and husband, Jennifer and John Kelly; his mother and step-father, Julia and Luis Sanquirico; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Tom Stapleton; nephew and wife, Scott and Michelle Stapleton, and their children, Wyatt and Brooke; nephew Brett Stapleton and his children, Brayden and Dallen; and grandchildren Julia Martin, Georgie Svederus, Roxanna and Austin Kelly.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Svederus, and a nephew and godson, Michael Stapleton.
