Patsy Micheau
Patsy B. Micheau, 89, of Huron, S.D., formerly of Mountain Home, passed away Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at the Huron Regional Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Mountain Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
Patsy B. Shoultz, the daughter of William H. and Mae (Roberdeau) Shoultz, was born on Aug. 28, 1923, on the family farm in Carpenter, South Dakota.
Patsy attended the Fairview Country School a half mile from her home and graduated from Huron High School in 1941.
Patsy married Edwin (Pete) Peterson in May of 1943. She was blessed with two children, her daughter, Janet Mae, and her son, Allen Edwin. Patsy moved to Tacoma, Wash., in 1946, where she worked as a counselor and did therapy work for the mentally ill at the Western State Hospital for 22 years, until her retirement. Patsy lived in White City, Ore., and Mountain Home before moving to Huron in 2008.
Patsy was a member of the Emanuel Baptist Church in Mountain Home.
Patsy was an avid baseball fan and loved to follow her favorite team, the New York Yankees.
Patsy also loved to spend time with her family and friends. Her grandchildren meant everything to her.
Grateful for having shared in her life are her eight grandchildren: Doug Roning, of Parker, Colo., Tracie Lajeunesse and Leslie McElroy, both of Spokane, Wash., Sean Rhodes, and Seth Rhodes, both of Montana, Brian Rhodes of Florida, and Hannah and Mandy Rhodes, both of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Allen Rhodes, a daughter, Janet Mae Hoefft, five brothers and three sisters.
