Rosella More
Rosella More, 76, of Mountain Home passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at a local care center. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, and burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
Rosella was born to Jim and Mary Hill on May 9, 1936, in Greenwood, S.C. She married James More in Greenville on Nov. 27, 1954.
James and Rosella were married 45 years, and together they had three children, Fred, Priscilla and Sylvia. They moved to Mountain Home in 1970. She loved being a homemaker, and she also enjoyed sewing and fishing.
She was a member of the Christian & Baptist Church, a member of Alfred E. David #80ES since 1984 and the Black History Committee where she served as Treasurer for 10 years. Rosella was also named 2007's Person of the Year by the Mountain Home Black History Committee.
Rosella is survived by her son, Fred Moore, and her daughter, Priscilla Moore-McCutchson, both of Mountain Home; a half sister, Janie White; two grandchildren, Tiffany and Tare Moore; and one great-grandchild, Jazzmine Moore. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James, her daughter, Sylvia, and three brothers.
