Mary Wheeler

Mary B. Wheeler, 94 of Mountain Home passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2012, at a Boise hospital. A graveside inurnment will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2012, at Mountain View Cemetery. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Mary was born April 21, 1918, in New Dayton, Alberta, Canada, the daughter of Harry and Pearl Gorrill. She came to the United States to Mountain Home in 1937.

She met Lewis Wheeler, and they were married on July 4, 1939. They purchased the LaMode Cleaners in May 1948 and sold the business in 1963. Together, they traveled until 1989. Lewis passed away in November 1990. Mary remained living in Mountain Home until her death.

Mary is survived by three nieces: Shirley Huggins of Seattle, Wash.; and Jane Saunders and Gloria Wheeler of Provo, Utah; two nephews: Gerald Wheeler of Ogden, Utah; and Wayne Thirsk of Sidney, British Columbia; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis, and one sister.
