Audrey Sherman
Audrey Lou (McMillan) Sherman went to be with the Lord on April 17, 2012.
Audrey was born on Feb. 24, 1931, to Russell and Florence McMillan in Wendell.
The family moved to King Hill when she was five years old. Audrey graduated from school in King Hill and went to college in Albion. She went on to teach in Oreana, Bliss, Hammett and Glenns Ferry.
Audrey married Lynn G. Sherman on July 12, 1953. They made their home in King Hill where they had three children: Tami, Kevin and Robin Scott.
Later, Audrey taught as a substitute teacher in Glenns Ferry and drove a school bus for years. She went on to work for Elmore County and retired after 13 years as an Elmore County deputy clerk.
Audrey loved her time with her grandchildren and spent hours sitting by the window just watching them play in the yard and on the rock pile by the house. She was an avid fisherman and loved her time at the cabin where she spent many hours on her motorcycle exploring the mountains just finding out where the old logging roads ended.
Audrey loved backpacking, working in her yard and garden and canning the harvest. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church and the King Hill Grange until its closing.
She is survived by her daughter, Tami and Mervin Shenk, son Kevin and Cindy Sherman, 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren with one more on the way. Audrey was preceded in death by her son, Robin Scott, and husband, Lynn Sherman.
At Audrey's request, there will be no public services. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
