Margret "Frances" Heath, 87, of Mountain Home died Sunday, April 1, 2012, at home. There will be a gathering of family and friends for a 10 a.m. Rosary at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, on Friday, April 6, 2012. Cremation is under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
Frances was born Feb. 9, 1925, in Sunfish, Ky. She was the sixth child of 14 children born to James T. and Bennie Duvall.
She grew up in and attended schools in Kentucky. Upon graduation from high school, she attended beauty school to become a licensed cosmetologist.
After working as a beautician for a few years, she met and married the love of her life Charles Heath, on Oct. 29, 1944. From this union were born two children, Mary and Danny. After the childrens' arrival, Frances' health was affected by respiratory illness. Therefore, the family left Kentucky and traveled to Arizona, Texas, Florida and finally settled in New Mexico to raise their children.
They came to Mountain Home, in 1987 to be closer to her daughter, Mary, and her family.
She was a beautician most of her life and often owned her own salon. She loved working outside in her vegetable and flower gardens. If the weather didn't cooperate, she was busy in her sewing room making clothes and quilts. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
Frances is survived by her husband, Charles; daughter Mary and her husband Dave Abrahamson of Mountain Home; grandsons David of Kimberly; Chuck and his wife, Robin and stepdaughter, Lacey, of Idaho Falls; great grandchildren Skyler, Levi and Kaytlin; and her special granddaughter, Kathy Brown, all of Mountain Home; as well as three sisters and two brothers all still living in Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her son, Danny, her parents, three brothers, five sisters and one foster sister.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, 380 SE Spokance, #110, Portland, OR 97202, in Frances's name.
