Shirley Jean Milligan
Shirley Jean Milligan, age 77, a resident of Glenns Ferry, passed away quietly on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at her home. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 7, 2012, at the Glenns Ferry Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Shirley was born December 15, 1934, in Oregon City, Oregon, the only daughter of Lyle G. and Sanna Williams. Shirley had two brothers, the younger brother Tom is residing in Provo, Utah, the older brother Richard, is now deceased
Upon graduation from high school, Shirley enrolled in dental assistant college and worked in that profession on and off all of her working career.
Shirley was the proud mother of six healthy children, three boys and three girls. Rock as the first born and lives in Glenns Ferry with most of his family. Christy was next and resides in Wasilla, Alaska and all of her family lives nearby. Cheri was the third and she lives in Santa Clarita, CA with her family. Marcy and her family live in or near to Maitland, Florida. Sterling was next as the second son and they live in Apple Valley, CA. Billy is the youngest and lives in Clovis, CA with all his children. All Shirley's children love and live the gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Shirley's grandfather on her mother's side served as a bishop. Shirley's father served as bishop among his many callings. Her brother has been a bishop in two different wards and is currently a member of the high council. Two of Shirley's son in-laws Gary and Blaine have served several callings including bishop, and her son Sterling is second counselor to the bishop. All of Shirley's children are very busy in their callings and are a good example of a solid testimony to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Among the many callings of Shirley's were President of the Primary and President of the Relief Society.
Shirley has 36 grandchildren and 15 1/2 great-grandchildren.
For the last 15 years, Shirley has been married to John Milligan and will be sealed to him in the Boise Temple for all eternity.
