William Sanders
William W. "Bill" Sanders, 67, of Mountain Home, died Saturday, March 24, 2012, at home. A gathering of friends and family will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2012, at the Mountain Home Elks Lodge. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
Bill was born Feb. 2, 1945, in Tonopah, Nev., to Bill and Mae Sanders. He grew up in Mountain Home and had fond memories of "helping" his grandpa on the family farm. He graduated from Mountain Home High School in 1963.
He spent 25 years serving Idaho in law enforcement, retiring in 2000. He never met a stranger and always had a story or joke to tell. Everything was for sale, and he could sell underwear to a nudist.
In retirement, he could be found tinkering in his shop, on his motorcycle or tractor, or telling stories down at C&A "supervising" the guys.
Bill is survived by his wife, Carol, his brother, Jim, and his wife, Deb Sanders of Mountain Home; son Mathieu and his wife Wendy Sanders of Depew, N.Y.; daughter Jennifer and her husband Ray Anderson of Boise; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2676 So. Vista, Boise, ID 83705, or the Idaho Humane Society, 4775 Dorman St., Boise, ID 83705.
