Gladys Spence
My dear mother, Gladys Spence, 98, of Grand View, went to Heaven on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011. A graveside service was held Friday, Dec. 30, at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain Home. Arrangements were under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
Gladys was born Aug. 9, 1913, in McCurtain, Okla., the daughter of Ben and Lillie Kingsborrough. She loved everyone and everything about life.
She was known as the McDonald's Lady. She would walk to McDonald's with her walker every day when she was living at Ashley Manor. Some very nice guys raised money and put in a sidewalk so mother would not have to walk in the dirt.
She will be missed very much by her only daughter, Jean, and her husband Buck McGhee, of Grand View. We loved her so much.
