Fred Latimore
Fred E. Latimore, 90, of Mountain Home, passed away Dec. 28, 2011.
He was born July 31, 1921, in Mountain Home, to Ernest W. and Dona A. (Harris) Latimore.
Fred graduated from Mountain Home High School in 1940. He then attended Boise Junior College.
In 1942, he entered the U.S. Merchant Marines.
Fred married Jane M. Sumner Aug. 22, 1944, in Seattle, Wash. After being discharged, Fred and Jane returned to Mountain Home.
Fred was an accountant, and worked for the Bureau of Reclamation at Anderson Dam, office manager of Harris Department Store and Boesinger Construction.
He built and operated the Town Center Motel on his family's home site. In 1966, they moved to the California and lived in the bay area, settling in Mountain View, Calif.
Fred retired in 1987 and they returned to Mountain Home.
For a few years they traveled the states and snowed birded in Yuma, Ariz.
Fred was former city councilman, Mountain Home Volunteer Fireman, 50-year member of AF&AM Masonic Lodge and BPOE Elks Lodge #2276 (charter member), the El Korah Shrine Temple and past president of the Redwood City Shrine Club in California, a member of the American Legion, the VFW, and a member of the Saint James Episcopal Church.
Fred is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jane, daughter Karol (Richard) Urquidi of Mountain Home, son Fred (Tina) Latimore of Gilroy, Calif., grandsons Richard (Rhonda) Urquidi, Fred Latimore and Michael Latimore, and great-grandchildren Kathryn, Riley and Joseph Urquidi.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Wilma Knight, and brothers Robert Latimore and Frank Latimore.
Funeral services will be held Jan. 3, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home. Internment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
