Mike Gonzales Sr.
Mike Gonzales Sr., 81, Formerly of Blythe Calif., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, in Mountain Home, with his family by his side.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 11 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
Mike was born May 8, 1930, in Sharp, Texas. He was a migrant worker and traveled between Texas and Idaho.
While in Idaho, Mike met and married Helen Flores. Together they had six children.
Mike and Helen continued to travel between Idaho, Kansas and Texas for work. Their marriage ended in 1969.
Mike then married Margarita Santa Maria and moved to Blythe Calif., where he was a tractor operator for several farmers in the area. After Margarita passed away, Mike moved to Mountain Home to live with his son, Mike Jr.
Mike always had a good sense of humor and enjoyed cooking for the family. He will be missed very much.
Mike is survived by his sons, Mike Jr. and wife Helen Gonzales of Mountain Home and Gonzalo Gonzales of Salt Lake City, Utah, daughters Deanna Gonzales, Natalie Medrano and Lisa Gonzales all of Nampa, former wife Helen Gonzales of Nampa, brothers Ramon and Manual Gonzales, both of Texas, sisters Inez and Daniel Velasquez of Washington state, and Elida, Suzana, Christina and Connie, all of Texas, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mike was preceded in death by both of his parents, son Tim Gonzales, grandsons James Medrano and Jesus Ibarra and several brothers and sisters.
