Thomas Thornsberry
Thomas Charles Thornsberry, 60, of Tipanuk, passed away Nov. 7, 2011, at a local hospital, from complications of lung cancer.
A viewing will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Monday, Nov. 14, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. Burial with military honors will be held at 2 p.m., at the Idaho Veterans Cemetery in Boise.
Tom was born Jan. 16, 1951, to Thomas A. Stoy of Patton, Pa., and Francis Diskey of Mountain Home.
Tom retired from the US Air Force as a tech sergeant. He served tours at Mountain Home AFB, Spangdalhm, Germany, and Saudi Arabia in Operation Desert Storm.
Tom enjoyed traveling, camping and teaching his grandchildren to fish. He also loved watching football, the Pittsburg Steelers, BSU Broncos and Penn State. His best memory was watching his oldest grandson, Michael, play football with the Mountain Home Tigers.
In addition to his wife of 42 years, Donna, and his parents, Tom leaves behind three daughters, Melissa, Tammy and Anne, all of Mountain Home, 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, son-in-laws Daniel Bistline and Anthony Altman. Also, his brothers, Steve Thornsberry (Coletta) of Twin Falls, Tim Stoy of Springfield, Va., and Marcus Weigeled of Berlin, Germany.
Tom will be missed very much by his family, his seven cats and his two dogs.
