Bob Hoyt
Robert "Bob" J. Hoyt, 83, of Mountain Home, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, at a Boise care center. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, Nov. 4, at the American Legion Hall, Post #26, located at 515 E. 2nd South St. in Mountain Home. Cremation is under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
Bob was born on Oct. 4, 1928, in Kinmundy, Ill., the son of William and Hazel Hoyt. He joined the U.S. Army in 1946, and worked as a purchasing agent. After retiring from the Army in 1966, he worked at Idaho Power. Bob and his wife, Alice, purchased the Tollgate Café on Highway 20 in 1974. The café closed in 1991.
Bob was a member of the American Legion Post #26, the VFW, 40/8 Voiture Locale #336 and the Mountain Home Elks Lodge #2276.
Bob is survived by his sister, Connie Garrett, of Salem, Ill., daughter-in-law Donna Hoyt and three grandchildren, Jessie, David and Stephanie.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice, his son, Robert, his step-son, Bob Wymer, his parents, his brother, William, and his sister, Loretta.
