Chet Carpenter
Chester "Chet" Andrew Carpenter, 96-year-old resident of Eagle, Idaho, passed peacefully, surrounded by family, on Monday, Aug. 29, 2011.
Chester was born on Dec. 23, 1914, in New Plymouth, Idaho, to James and Irene Carpenter. He was one of 11 children.
Chet married Roberta Sheppard on March 29, 1945, in Boise, Idaho. He proudly served in the U.S. Army in World War II (1941-1945). He worked as a banker for 25 years.
Chet is survived by Children: Linda (David) Cox and Chester "Sonny" (Renee) Carpenter; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, brothers James "Jiggs" Carpenter, Don (Iris) Carpenter, and Bill (Barbara) Carpenter, and sisters Evelyn Peterman and Mary (Jim) Cook.
Chet was preceded in death by his parents, wife Roberta Carpenter, son Robert Carpenter, sister Clara (Cyril) VanDriesche, brother Russell (Charlotte) Carpenter, sister Dorothy (James) Bradley, brother Francis (Berlene) Carpenter, sister Elanor Carpenter, sister-in-law Viola Carpenter and brother-in-law Don Peterman.
A viewing was held on Tuesday, Sept. 6, followed by a rosary at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 6300 N. Meridian Rd., Meridian, ID 83646.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, followed by graveside service at Glenns Ferry, Idaho.
Arrangements are under the direction of Summers Funeral Home.
