Thanks for Australian trip support
Dear editor:
I'm Kacee Lou Cameron, and this summer I went to Australia. I went to Australia with the Down Under Sports group. I got to represent the USA and Idaho in two 5K races.
In the first race, "The Gold Coast Marathon," I placed 132 out of over 3,000 people. In the second race, "USA vs. Australia," I was put on a team made up of Idaho, Oregon and Washington. I placed 15th overall, my team, both boys and girls, winning first place.
During this trip I was able to do some amazing things. I went on a rainforest tour, watched an Aboriginal dance, fed a kangaroo and held a koala.
Going to Australia was the trip of a lifetime. It was amazing fun. It allowed me to independently, as well as with a team, represent the USA and Idaho in a positive way.
It's all thanks to everyone who helped me along the way, whether it was helping at car washes, at the donkey basketball game or at the pig raffle. I really couldn't have done it without you guys.
Kacee Lou
