Marian Lane
Marian L. Lane, 85, of Meridian, Idaho, died July 29, 2011, at a local retirement community.
At Marian's request, there will be no service. Cremation was handled by the Cremation Society of Idaho.
Marian was born July 31, 1925, in Kansas City, Mo., the third child of Marian L. and Henry L. Lang.
On May 15, 1949, she married Charles W. Lane and moved to Iowa City, Iowa. While in Iowa City, Marian gave birth to a son, Charles A. Lane, and a daughter, Margaret L. Lane.
After Iowa City, Marian and Charles lived in Lawrence, Kan., Billings and Helena, Mont., and Lakewood, Colo.
In 1977, they retired to Mountain Home, Idaho.
In 2006, Marian and Charles moved to Meridian to live next door to their daughter.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and her husband.
Marian was a wife, mother, friend, and a community volunteer. Over the years, she donated her time to the Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, PTA, Reach to Recovery, hospice, the Elmore Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary and the Mountain Home Visitors Center.
Marian made friends wherever she went.
She lived each day with a sense of purpose and brought cheer to all she met.
She enjoyed shopping, gardening, fishing, camping, boating, sewing, macramé and crewel.
No words can express how special and loved she was. She was a vibrant, joyful, caring, gracious, generous person. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
Survivors include her son, Charles A. Lane, and daughter in-law Valerie Lane of Battle Mountain, Nev., her daughter, Margaret L. Lane, of Meridian, three grandchildren, Kimberley K. Hartweg of Reno, Nev., Brianna L. Lane of Norman, Okla., and Brandon M. Lane of Raleigh, N.C., niece April Erickson of Eagle, Idaho, and nephew Gary Lang of Raytown, Mo.
