Melba Foster
Melba E. Foster (Leishman), 91, of Caldwell, formerly of Mountain Home, passed away at home of natural causes on July 22, 2011.
A viewing will be held at Rost Funeral Home on Thursday, July 28, from 9-10:30 a.m., followed by a graveside service at 11 a.m. at Mountain View bCemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.
Melba was born in Garland, Utah, on March 2, 1920, to Andrew and Ethel (Wardell) Leishman. She was the second of six children.
When she was little, the family moved to California. There she met Loren Nephi Foster and was married on Feb. 19, 1936. She spent the next few decades caring for six kids and a husband. Melba, Loren and the family moved to Idaho in the early 1970s, settling in Mountain Home.
Melba was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed camping and water skiing in her younger years and later enjoyed crocheting and sewing.
Melba is survived by her sisters, Betty Hill and Veva Blizzard, and brother Robert Leishman, daughters Lorna Rice of Tennessee, Janice Kinney of Meridian, Rita and husband Edward McClure of Caldwell, sons Jim and wife Cindy Foster of Sandpoint, Roger and wife Jackie Foster of Mountain Home, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Melba was preceded in death by both her parents, two sisters, her husband, Loren, and seven children.
