New ministry on hold after city rejects use permit

Thursday, May 12, 2011

Plans to grant a local church temporary approval to use a building for its new ministry remained on hold after the Mountain Home City Council voted against the measure.

During a public meeting Monday evening, the council rejected a recommendation by the city's planning and zoning commission to grant the No-Limits Christian Ministries a temporary conditional use permit.

The proposal sought to give the church up to 90 days to resolve several issues related to transforming the former Salvation Army building at 535 North Main Street into a church and counseling center.

Do we really need another church, bank, or car lot in this little town?? How about something a little different... so happy to see the fresh fruit/veggie place across the street from the Youth Ranch... great prices and dern good produce, now we need a fresh butcher next door.

  • Nothing wrong with a new church, just don't go if you don't like it. I find it odd that they were able to get as far as they are at this point. What's wrong with this picture? They made the plans, set the place up and were "in business" and then all of a sudden "something" wasn't right? I wonder who ticked off who and how it was managed that all of a sudden things are not right and the church can't operate. Something seems fishy to me.

  • I agree with Scoutin on the new indoor fruit/veggie stand. They have reasonable prices and fresh produce. Everything that I have gotten there has been very delicious.
