Carleen Astle
Carleen M. Astle, 60, of Grand View, died on April 29, 2011, at a local hospital.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday May 3, from 9-11 a.m. at the Grand View LDS Chapel, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. and burial at Grand View Riverside Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.
Carleen was born in Fremont, Ohio, on July 22, 1950, and adopted by Carleton and Bernadine Peck at the age of 3. She graduated from Clyde High School in 1968 and attended Stephens College in Columbia, Mo., from 1968-1970.
On Aug.1, 1970, Carleen married Layne Astle in Clyde, Ohio.
Carleen graduated from Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, in 1971. Carleen and Layne resided in Wendell, Idaho, and Logan, Utah, before moving to Grand View, Idaho, in 1973.
Carleen worked on the family farm and was a substitute teacher. She enjoyed reading, tole painting, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles and playing the flute and piano. She loved her Ohio State Buckeyes!
Carleen in survived by her husband, Layne Astle, of Grand View, five daughters, Mindy Ray (Glenn) of Mesa, Ariz., Alisa Doyle (Skip) of Boise, Idaho, and Kristy May, Erica Mulberry (Logan) and Jeni Moore (Nate), all of Grand View, Idaho, 11 grandchildren, Michael, Layne, Collin, Hayden, Dylan, Madalynn, Max, Molly, Maklay, Makenna and Ashten, and her mother-in-law, Virginia Prince.
She was preceded in death by both parents, her father-in-law, George Astle, and a grandson, Milo William Doyle.
