Bill Brown
William "Bill" Brown, 80, of Mountain Home, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2011, at a local care center.
Per his request, no services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
Bill was born March 23, 1931, in Monte Vista, Colo. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was discharged after 24 months as a technical sergeant.
Bill married Jewel Allen on Aug. 31, 1956, in Boise. They lived at White Bird, where Bill was employed at IdaPine Mills. They moved back to Mountain Home in 1957.
In 1966, they opened the Sunset Bar, which they owned and operated until 1979.
In 1976, Bill started working for Civil Service at the Mountain Home Air Force Base Commissary. He worked at the commissary until his retirement on July 1, 1993.
After his retirement, Bill and his dog, Lucky, spent time hunting and fishing. He also liked taking care of his garden, yard, flowers and trees.
Bill is survived by his wife, Jewel, his two daughters, Vickie, and her husband, Mike Cuddihee, and Loretta, and her husband, Bruce Crisman, his grandchildren Tiffany, Lexi, Bobby, Steven, Pat, Rochelle and William and three great-grandchildren Laney, Markus and Leia.
He was preceded in death by both his parents.
