BLM temporarily places 6,900 acres off limits to motor vehicles
Thursday, February 3, 2011
The Bureau of Land Management's Four Rivers Field Office will temporarily close 6,900 acres of land 12 miles northeast of Mountain Home to all motorized vehicle use.
It's one of two closures announced by the BLM, the other being nearly 1,920 acres of public land northwest of Eagle.
The closures will remain in effect for approximately 24 months. The two areas will remain open to non-motorized recreation access.
Both closures are the result of wildland fires.
