Chris Christianson
Burdell "Chris" Francis Christianson, 81, of Mountain Home, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at a Boise hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 21, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel and burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
Chris was born on Feb. 19, 1929, in Hendricks, Minn., the son of Selmer and Flossie Christianson. He graduated from Hendricks High School and enjoyed involvement is all sports.
He served 21 years in the U.S. Air Force, where he attained a rank of MSGT.
He was proud to have served his country. He served in Germany, Minnesota, Michigan, Alaska, England and later at Mountain Home Air Force Base.
While visiting Copenhagen, Denmark, he met Anita Ekberg, whom he married on Oct. 18, 1952. They celebrated 58 years together and Dad cherished and loved his wife.
Chris then worked at the Idaho State Penitentiary for 22 years.
Chris and Anita had four children, Gregory, Jeffery, Michael and Tina. Being with his family, meant the most to him. He looked forward to the yearly deer outings with his sons.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, El Korah Shrine and the American Legion.
Dad spent much of his retirement helping his friends in need, times with his wife, sons and daughter, daughter-in-law and three grandchildren.
Chris is survived by his wife, Anita, of Mountain Home, his children, Gregory of Mountain Home, Jeffery and his wife, Mary, of Boise, Michael of Boise and Tina of Meridian, and three grandchildren, Adam, Joseph, and Adela.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Marlys Mickelson, and his brother, Lyle Christianson.
