Saturnina Martinez
Saturnina G. Martinez, 81, of Mountain Home, passed away at her home on Dec. 31, 2010.
A private family internment will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, at Mountain View Cemetery, with a memorial service following at 1:30 p.m. at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
Saturnina was born on Nov. 29, 1929, in Martindale, Texas, the daughter of Andres and Tomasa Garcia. She grew up and was schooled in Martindale.
Saturnina married Isabel Martinez in 1949. Together they lived in Eagle Pass, Texas, most of their lives. They moved to Mountain Home in 2001 to be closer to her daughter.
Since 1985 she was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses in Texas and at the Kingdom Hall in Mountain Home.
She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and her favorite flower was the gardenia.
Saturnina is survived by her five daughters, Gloria and her husband, Ruben Gomez, of Mountain Home, Maria and her husband, Candelario Joven, of California, Lilan Martinez of Mountain Home, Izabel Lopez of Mountain Home, and Magdalena and her husband, Richard Vela, of California, her brother,
Miguel Garcia, of Texas, 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Isabel, one brother and four sisters.
