Scott Lucia
Scott Royal Lucia, 48, of Mountain Home, peacefully passed away after a short illness, on Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, surrounded by his family.
There will be no funeral service. A private memorial will be held sometime in the spring. Cremation was under direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
Scott was born on Nov. 26, 1962, in Big Spring, Texas. Scott was schooled in Mountain Home, graduating from Mountain Home High School in 1981.
Scott's adventurous spirit led him to spend several years working as an independent roofer in the Wood River Valley, as a dairy department manager at Valley Market in Hailey for seven years and as a machinist in Mountain Home. In earlier years, Scott worked for his dad at the family owned gas station, Lucia's Texaco, in Glenns Ferry. He was so small; he used a milk can to stand on to wash the car windows.
Scott was such a handy man to have around, from showing his 8-year-old nephew, Brandon, how to build a doghouse, to putting the red roof on his parent's home and helping anyone who needed a vehicle repaired.
He loved fishing from his home-made raft, viewing the stars from his astronomy tent, cameras, playing guitar, his friends, especially his lifelong friends, Lynnie Acuff and James Warburton, his Harley, but most of all he Loved His Family.
Scott was one of the best sons a mother could want. He never left the house without first asking, "Do you need anything?"
Scott is survived by his parents, George and Beverly Lucia of Mountain Home, his brother, George, and his wife, Lynette Lucia, of Chubbuck, his two sisters, Penny Hadley of Mountain Home and Diana Robin of Stanley, his nieces, Eric Perez Acarregui, Kacey Hultenius, Jamie Guthrie, Lindsay Collier and Katelyn Conner, nephew Michael Perez, great-nephews Tavon Collier, Brandon Hultenis and Kyle Acarregui, great-nieces Sydney Larios, Danica Daphne Collier, Jaycee Guthrie and Abby Acarregui. Scott is also
survived by aunts, uncles, and several cousins living in Vermont and upstate New York.
