Loretta Jones
Loretta Jones, 86, of Mountain Home, passed away on Dec. 1, 2010, at a Boise hospital.
Loretta requested no services but will always be remembered in the hearts of her family and friends. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
Loretta was born the youngest of two daughters to Eugene and Marie Maitland of Portland, Ore. Loretta grew up in Portland and after high school worked for Fred Meyers and Bell Telephone as a switchboard operator.
At the age of 21, she met the love of her life, James W. Jones, while visiting San Diego. They were married a year later, in 1945.
Following Jim in his military career, she worked as a bank teller and in Army supplies while they were stationed in Japan and Fort Lewis, Washington.
After her daughter, Candie, was born, Loretta stayed home and became active in the PTA and supporting Jim in his political activities. She later worked with Jim in the Mountain Home State Farm Insurance office. Loretta's greatest interest was always her family and home.
Loretta is survived by her husband, Jim, after 66 years of marriage, daughter Candie Hall of Caldwell, grandsons Jeremy and his wife, Cristi Hall, of Middleton and Shane Hall of Sandhollow, four great-grandchildren, Gillian, Alex, Caitilyn and Makayla Hall of Middleton, sister June Scarfone of Portland and niece Suzi Bartlett of Portland.
